Risks in Relationships
Real success/fulfillment comes when we have godly, healthy relationships with those closest to us. The truth is, relationships are risky – loving people comes with the risk of being hurt by them; but relationships also come with a purpose – and that is what the devil is after. Because the kind of relationships we have in our lives, determines the quality of life we live. But as in all relationships, there are bound to be mistakes/misunderstandings – because we are human. And the key to Biblical compromise/overcoming all these relational problems is this : we’ve got to stop seeing/judging/valuing/measuring those who wronged us by their own actions/words/mistakes, and we’ve got to pray that we will see them through the eyes of Jesus. When we do this, forgiveness will come sooner, love will grow deeper, understanding and kindness will be easier, and we will learn how to take joy in the people/relationships that God has given us instead of dwelling only on the pain of those times when our loved ones disappointed us.
Remember, all through the Bible, the only reason people received their miracles despite their sin, shortcomings, mistakes and limitations was only because Jesus stood as a Mediator between them and the Father, and the Father didn’t see them, He only saw the righteousness and goodness of Jesus covering them.
Today, don’t give up on divinely-appointed, godly relationships just because some of them are doing you wrong and it’s not (yet) what you thought it would be. Instead of focusing on what they’ve done, see them through the eyes of Jesus. Because when you do, you are giving God the space to do what only He can do for all those involved, and soon it will lead to the manifestation of the very purpose why God connected you together and placed you in the lives of each other.
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
