Receiving a Word from God is receiving ALL of God.
But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.”
Matthew 8:8
Feeling unworthy to call Jesus to his house to heal his servant, the Roman Officer settled to ask for only a word from Him. He felt that since He did not deserve all of Jesus, He could at least receive a part of Him. But what he didn’t know was that when Jesus sent the word, He was sending Himself; because He and the Word are One. [In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God – John 1:1]
Today, like the Roman Officer, you may be in need of something from God, and He knows that you may feel unworthy to call Him into your life. And that’s why He has already sent His Word to you, and in doing so, He sent Himself, His very Person and Presence, all that He is and all that He stands for. And when you receive His Word, you don’t receive just a part of Him, you receive all of Him. You may be asking for a word only for your miracle, but He is also giving you Himself – the Person you need for your overall and complete salvation. Remember, the Word and the Person cannot be separated. The Word is the Person and the Person is the Word; and if you have the Word, you have the Person; and if you have the Person you have the Word.
