The Crucifixion and Resurrection
THE CRUCIFIXION: (REVELATION)
When Jesus was crucified, some of those who genuinely loved Him, abandoned Him. And through this moment, we understand that the first thing the Cross does in us is to bring us to a place where we see/confront who we truly are. It’s a place of humbling; it’s a place of breaking. Because like the disciples, some of us will see how we abandon God when it looks like He’s not Who He said He is or that He’s not going to do what He promised to do. But the crucified Jesus will also show you that He can handle it when you sometimes doubt His goodness, question His love and forget His power.
THE RESURRECTION: (TRANSFORMATION)
While the crucified Jesus makes you look into YOURSELF and see who you really are, the Resurrected Jesus will make you look to HIM and see who you can be THROUGH Him. That’s why there is ALWAYS hope for anyone who turns to God. The crucified Jesus will help you reveal your broken, doubting self to Him, but the Resurrected Jesus will transform you and bring you to a place of faith and healing again.
