A dead situation and a resurrection miracle
“…why are you crying?” the angels asked her. “Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
John 20:13
Every single thing that happened in Mary Magdalene’s life, led up to this one moment. Her sinful lifestyle, her encounter with Jesus, her repentance and forgiveness, the horror of the Cross, and the sorrow of His missing body, all connected and drove her to this very place – the tomb of Jesus. And she wept not only because Jesus died, but because she could not find His body.
Have you noticed that when a person dies, his family huddles around his body till the last moment? This is a natural response to death, birthed out of love and grief. We tend to stick to the dead for as long as possible to delay having to face life without them. And this is exactly what Mary was doing. But she didn’t know that there was something MORE about to happen – she was about to see the risen King.
Today, it may seem like everything that’s happened in your life is also leading you to a tomb – to mourn things lost. But there is something beyond death and more powerful than it about to happen – your dead situation is leading you to the Risen Christ!
“Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, “I have SEEN the Lord!”
John 20:18
