Ruth’s road to restoration.
1. An unforeseen circumstance:
When Ruth married Naomi’s son, she never would have thought that she would lose him after a few years. Today, if you are in a similar situation, where you were off to a great start, but suddenly things turned in the wrong direction, don’t be afraid. God has already made provision for the things you could not foresee.
2. An unfair burden:
After Ruth’s husband died, she could have left Naomi and re-married like Orpah. Marriage was her rightful blessing, especially after she was so good to her husband and his family. But what do you do when you’ve been faithful and it looks like it amounts to nothing? And in addition to this, she faced an unfair burden: if she left too, Naomi would be alone. And so she stayed with her. It’s not fair when you have the right to a certain blessing, but you still have to put others first. But do it anyway. Because the greatest part of your destiny is about deciding to make the journey.
3. An uncommon blessing:
In the end, we all know how God blessed Ruth through Boaz. And perhaps the most glorious thing about Ruth’s story is that you can be struggling in an unforeseen situation, carrying the weight of an unfair burden, and yet right on the way to an uncommon blessing! Remember this: an uncommon blessing is the result of the godly decisions you make in crushing situations.
