The cycle of a miracle (2 Kings 4)

The cycle of a miracle (2 Kings 4)

1. Denial (Vs 16 “No…Please don’t lie to me like that…”)

Elisha prophesied to the Shunammite woman that she would have a son the next year, but she could not believe it. Today, if we are honest, we’ll admit that at some point in time, we too denied the possibility of God’s great promises coming to pass in our lives.

2. Miracle (Vs 17 “…the following year she had a son…”)

Even when we are unable to believe for a miracle, God still gives it to us. The woman did not ask for a child, but God blessed her with a son anyway. Today, you too may not have asked God for a miracle because of various factors, but rejoice, because God’s decision to GIVE is greater than your limitation to ASK.

3. Trouble (Vs 20 “…around noontime he died.”)

A few years later, the child died. Know this: it IS possible to run into trouble after you receive a miracle. But take heart, because the God Who GAVE you the miracle, is also able to SUSTAIN you in trouble. And in the trouble, He can work another miracle yet again… (the child lived!)
