The perils of pretension
Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.
Psalms 142:6
One of the most common struggles that a believer faces is the need to constantly be ok. But you must understand that life is made up of both good times and bad times BUT the bad times don’t have to overwhelm you. If you look at the Psalmist David, sometimes he was full of praise and sometimes he was full of cries. Sometimes he was full of strength and other times he was terribly weak. But over and over again what made him see the power of God was the fact that he went to
God just as he was and admitted to God exactly how he felt. Most of the time you miss out on receiving God’s help because you pretend to be full of faith when you are actually full of fear. Remember, exposing a weakness is strength, and asking God for help is wisdom. Today, go to God just as you are. He won’t turn you away just because you feel that you are not as strong or as spiritual as you ought to be, but He will work in you till you become who He has called you to be.
