Toil and Tears; Seed and Songs

Toil and Tears; Seed and Songs

“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.”

Psalm 126:5,6 NLT

A work to be done (Sowing):

A person in deep pain thinks only of himself; and while it looks like he is being selfish, it is actually something that he is helpless about. Because this is the nature of pain – it causes us to forget all other things and it brings itself into sole focus. But in times of great pain, we must understand that we have something greater – the seed of the Gospel placed within our hearts; which indicates that we still have work to do in the midst of all we go through. Today, if the enemy has sent something terribly painful your way, gather your strength, sow through your pain, scatter/plant the seed of the Gospel/Word in someone’s life. Because the enemy wants to tell you that all you have is pain; but God wants to show you that you also have seed; and the seed in your heart is always greater than the pain in your life.

A blessing to be received (Reaping):

After sowing in pain, there is a blessing to be received. And the greatness of this blessing is not just about a harvest in itself, but that through the harvest, your whole countenance is changed: you go from tears to laughter; from sorrow to singing. And that’s why we must not let a season of pain become a season of stagnation. Today, don’t think that God will call you to work in/through pain and then forget about you; instead, He will bless/multiply what you have sown; He will applaud/rejoice over the smallest things you do for His Name; because He alone knows how much it sometimes costs you to keep fighting the good fight and running the good race.
